Aims of Crop Physiology
The main objective of studying crop physiology is to understand well which biological activities take place in a plant during its life span? How do they take place? What is the importance of each of these in the life of a plant? Which factors inside and outside the plant affect these activities? How much effect does each factor have on each activity and how much and how does each activity affect the growth and development of the plant? What do plants absorb from the external atmosphere? Why do they absorb what they absorb? What happens to the absorbed substances? Why do some plants flower in autumn and some in summer? Only after knowing the answers to these questions can a plant physiologist control the growth of plants and make them of greater economic importance to humans.
